A huge thank you to everyone who helped AFER exceed its $50,000 end-of-year fundraising goal. Before the ball dropped on 2012, you donated a total of $86,680 as part of a matching campaign with longtime AFER supporter Yeardley Smith.

It is because of your support –financial and otherwise—that AFER is able to do our work. With the Supreme Court hearing AFER’s case challenging Prop. 8 this spring, and with a final decision on marriage equality expected by the end of June, your support has never been more important. Ted, David, and our legal team are busy preparing our briefs now, and every day AFER’s communications and online team works to create an echo chamber of support for our cause.

When loving gay and lesbian couples across the country like AFER’s plaintiffs, Kris & Sandy and Paul & Jeff, are able to say “I do” it will because of people like you who have invested in equality. And because of your support, we are so close to making that a reality.
