“8”: Over 275 performances and Now Available in Spanish

Not only is Dustin Lance Black’s play about marriage equality now confirmed for over 275 performances throughout the US and internationally, but it will also be reaching new audiences thanks to a new Spanish translation.

Says AFER’s executive director Adam Umhoefer:

“From the moment we knew our trial would not be broadcast publicly, we were determined to find a way to address the public’s appetite for the facts, as argued before a court of law. With more than 250 readings—including the all-star premieres on Broadway and in Los Angeles, and international performances in Australia, New Zealand, and Zimbabwe—and many more expected with the script available in Spanish, people around the world will be able to witness truth and justice prevail over prejudice and fear. ”

Regional, community and university theaters around the world are coming together to stage “8” in order to spur dialogue, understanding, and action about marriage equality.
