Markus Schmidt of the Richmond Times-Dispatch reports on the 4th Circuits ruling to not delay the issuance of marriage licenses in Virginia:
Adam Umhoefer, executive director of the American Foundation for Equal Rights, said that while the plaintiffs in the case are “thrilled “with the decision, they understand that this ruling will likely be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court in the next few days. “Until then, any prospect of marriage equality will be on hold,” said Umhoefer, whose organization is the lead sponsor in Bostic v. Rainey, the first federal case aimed at overturning Virginia’s ban.
