New Poll: 60% of Latinos Support Marriage Equality

A survey released today by NBC Latino/IBOPE Zogby shows that 60% of Latinos support the freedom to marry for gay and lesbian Americans.

A majority of Latino respondents (60%) say they agree with same-sex couples having the right to marry, with nearly half (48%) saying they strongly agree with such a right for same-sex couples. More than a third (38%) say they either somewhat (7%) or strongly (31%) disagree with couples marrying.

Earlier this summer the nation’s largest Latino civil rights organization, National Council of La Raza, unanimously passed a resolution supporting marriage equality. And now no less than 15 polls show a majority of all Americans support the freedom to marry for gay and lesbian couples.
