New Marriage Video from Superbowl Champ Brendon Ayanbadejo

Congratulations are due to Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo, champion not just of the Superbowl but also of social justice!

On the heels of his team’s victory on Sunday, Brendon has released a new video in support of the freedom to marry.

You might know Brendon for his involvement in marriage equality, which dates back to a 2009 Huffington Post op-ed. Back then, Brendon wrote,

“I think we will look back in 10, 20, 30 years and be amazed that gays and lesbians did not have the same rights as every one else. How did this ever happen in the land of the free and the home of the brave? Are we really free?”

And his advocacy continues to this day. After a few members of the 49ers made anti-gay comments last week, Brendon spoke out, saying, “I invite all of you to sit down with me after the game and we’ll have a real discussion about this.”
